Difference between Active Directory and LDAP?

Active Directory (AD) is a directory service developed by Microsoft, primarily used for managing and organizing resources within a Windows domain environment.

It provides centralized authentication, authorization, and management of users, computers, groups, and other objects on the network.

Active Directory uses the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) as its underlying protocol to communicate with clients and perform various operations.
